This is release 2.3 of the J-Write text editor. This new version now has a more up-
to-date look and feel and:
1. Supports simulataneous editing of multiple text files, using a tab list along
the bottom of the edit window to select the active file.
2. A "Quick jump" list (jwrite32.exe only) of recently used directories in both
the file open/save and merge dialog boxes, in order to support rapid movement
between reqularly used directories.
3. Improved layout (jwrite32.exe only) for setup|preferences including the ability
to select the extensions for common text files in file open/save dialogs. The
button bar also has an up-to-date look and feel.
4. The shareware and registered user version are now identical, with registration
performed through the Help|About dialog.
5. Microsoft Intellimouse Mousewheel now supported (Jwrite32.exe only).
Bug Fixes:
1. Replace will now work with case sensitive text.
2. Block deletion with blocked text selected from right to left should no
longer report an out of memory error.
3. No longer loses edited text if you attempt to save a file that another
application also has open.
4. Block selection with the keyboard should now work properly.
5. The 16-bit (Delphi 1) version should no longer crash when pasting very large
amounts of text from the clipboard.
6. When deleting text on a one line file, the editor should no longer add a
phantom blank line.
7. Block deletion on the first line should no longer "disappear" the
remaining text.
8. THe editor should no longer crash on initialisation when there is no default
printer.
9. Search|Replace should no longer run the risk of a synchronisation error being
reported at end of file.
10. When line wrap is applied to a long line with few word breaks, but there is at
least one word break near the beginning of the line, there should no longer be
editing problems with this line. (This bug would only occur when the line passed
over an internal buffer boundary and so was very rare but could give very odd
behaviour when it happened).
11. There should no longer be any flicker when typing at full typomatic rate.
12. The caret should now be positioned accurately when using raster screen fonts
with an italic style.
13. The editor should no longer report an access violation on exit when the last
operation was undo.
